| Jerry started accompanying his brother, William and his
fiddle at a very early age. He started out with the mandolin, because the
guitar was too big for him. Then when he was about 12 or 13, he began to
practice on Skeeter Brunner's guitar. One day Skeeter said, "Jerry, you're
gonna learn to play this guitar. I'm just gonna give it to you." Jerry says
William was a stickler about timing. (And still is.) None of us knew Jerry
could play, because he didn't pick up a guitar all through high school.
(Something about a bad wrist.) When Travis and Junior started getting together
at Travis's house, Jerry came along and remembered everything William and
Skeeter taught him. |
