James tells me that he was raised right over there at Caney on the south side. When his brother went to the Army he left a beat up old guitar. James taught himself how to play. Later he had his own band, playing in Honky Tonks and Nursing Homes. He's played all over. On Saturday nights now, he plays at the Caddo Opry.
